The end of Dark Secrets
Since the release of Cataclysm, things did not go so well for Dark Secrets. After most of the core people left, I'll announce here formally that things are coming to an end.
From now on, Dark Secrets is no longer a raiding guild, and will no longer recruit. It is sad that after more than three years, the guild can't continue
as we had planned for Cataclysm, but there was really no choice anymore. Our sincere thanks go to everyone who supported the guild - we would not have been
able to get this far without you!
September 2007 - January 2011
I think I broke it!
Yeah, so I was messing around with Wordpress trying to make a new theme for the site, and happened to upload the wrong file. Of course, this led to everything
crashing down, breaking the site without any chance of recovery (backups are fer sissys!). So I said "eff you!" to Wordpress and created my own site from scratch.
At least now the new template works like a charm!
Of course, the old posts and the new content aren't up yet - that's alot of work, since all killshots need to be converted to the new size - but I'll make them
available over time.
Oh yeah, these guys are dead too
Almost forgot to update (never happened before!) but we killed the Blood Council on Heroic mode last tuesday. Of course, everyone was absolutely certain
we would not succeed, so in the end, we had less issues than on 10-man, which I guess is saying - something, I don't know. I also still don't really know what
the encounter is about, but somehow it worked out fine anyway.

Admittedly, this kill could have been done a day earlier, but on our first night on the filler content called Halion we had people who couldn't move out of stuff lag.
Figures that we killed him yesterday on the second attempt, still making #4 on the realm (also, a 10-man team killed him on release night, making #2 on normal mode).
Really, really easy encounter - at least to a healer twiddling his thumbs outside while the people inside the twilight realm run for their lives :D You are the real heroes!
Afterwards we were so pumped, we just went to ICC and brokses-ded Rotface Heroic within few attempts.

What? No, not the end of Dark Secrets, even if you secretly hoped so. Nope, sir, not today! Today we declare victory over a hated enemy of the Horde
– Arthas Menethil, alias The Lich King. What took us so long, you might ask, and answer you shall receive: people took
us so long. People leaving us to join “better” guilds (only to return on their knees begging to be accepted again), people not showing
up to anything else than farm nights, people staying offline without any notice at all. Little idea do we have what motivated them to do so, but we
know one thing: it was all for nothing, because the big bossman is finally down.
So in the end, it took us about one month to get him. Yes, the buff stacked to 25% in that time, and that certainly also helped, but in the end,
it was the concerted efforts of just the right people that brought him to justice. Congratulations to everyone involved – not just the core
people, but especially the many new guys who were thrown at the LK and still didn’t fail – and a hearty “screw you” to all
the people who left because LK25 doesn’t drop loot until he’s down. Damn right, that’s why you are getting none of it!
